Tina Dolbeare has taught elementary and intermediate general music and choir since 1986. She graduated from Indiana University and has a certification in Kodaly Music Education. She was sad to leave teaching choir, guitar, AP Music theory, and drama at Galena High School, but has loved the new position at Donner Springs this year!
Mrs. Dolbeare and the Indianapolis Children's Choir:
Mrs. Dolbeare was a Regional Choir Director with the Indianapolis Children's Choir. She had a Preparatory Choir for 1st-3rd graders and a Regional Choir for 4th-7th graders. For more more information about the Indianapolis Children's Choir see their website at icchoir.org.
Mrs. Dolbeare has been a presenter at Suzuki Piano Workshops, Indiana Kodaly Educators, the Midwest Kodaly Music Educators Association Conferences in 2005 and 2006, and the General Music Workshop for the Indiana Music Education Association. In 2012 she presented a session about Collaborative Learning for the General Music Workshop through the Indiana Music Education Association. In 2014 she presented this session again at the state professional development conference for IMEA and presented another session about how to begin participating in a statewide choral festival ("Circle the State with Song.") In January of 2015 she presented a session on how to engage the intermediate age learner (#Instatafun!).
Mrs. Dolbeare has been very active in her professional organization, the Indiana Music Education Association. In 2010-2012 she served as the State Chair for Circle the State with Song and the Indiana Honor Choirs. Previous to that she was an Area Coordinator for Area 5's Circle the State with Song and Assistant Chair for CSWS and Honor Choir for four years. More info about IMEA..
Since moving to Nevada she joined NMEA (Nevada Music Education Association), OAKE (Organization of American Kodaly Educators), ACDA (American Choral Directors), and SNAKE (Sierra Nevada Kodaly Educators).
In August of 2015 she attended her first A Capella-Con at McQueen and each year assisted in the selection of the WCSD High School Honor Choir. She has had students selected for Honor Choir and All State She was one of the directors assisting in the rehearsals for each year's honor choir rehearsals. She had a high participation in Solo and Ensemble from choir and guitar students, and reactivated the Thespian Troupe for drama students, as well as co-directed all of the musicals from 2015-2020, then directed and produced the annual play and musical in 2020 ("A Christmas Carol", and "High School Music on Stage")
Mrs. Dolbeare is a self-proclaimed geek. She loves fantasy and sci-fi. Her hobbies include reading voraciously, hiking, camping, cooking ethnic foods, and playing ukulele. Her family has two dogs: Cody (GSP), and Mr. Stockings (his son.) She and her family attend Centerpoint Christian Fellowship, where she occasionally leads/helps with worship and is on the Mission Team.
